Joy In The Journey

“Joy When You Are Stuck”

1. Your position is on

(Philippians 1:12-14) And I want you to know, my dear brothers and sisters, that everything that has happened to me here has helped to spread the Good News. 13 For everyone here, including the whole palace guard, knows that I am in chains because of Christ. 14 And because of my imprisonment, most of the believers here have gained confidence and boldly speak God’s message without fear.

(Proverbs 16:9) The heart of man plans his way, but the LORD establishes his steps

(Exodus 13:17-18) When Pharaoh finally let the people go, God did not lead them along the main road that runs through Philistine territory, even though that was the shortest route to the Promised Land. God said, “If the people are faced with a battle, they might change their minds and return to Egypt.” 18 So God led them in a roundabout way through the wilderness toward the Red Sea. Thus the Israelites left Egypt like an army ready for battle.

How can I have joy in the journey this year?

(Psalm 37:23) The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD, and He delights in his way.

2. Your position has been

(Psalm 23:5) You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies

(Ephesians 2:10) For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

3.Your position is

4. Your position isn’t

(Philippians 1:18-19)

(Philippians 1:18-19) Yes, and I will continue to rejoice, 19 for I know that through your prayers and God’s provision of the Spirit of Jesus Christ what has happened to me will turn out for my deliverance.

(Philippians 1:25-26) Knowing this, I am convinced that I will remain alive so I can continue to help all of you grow and experience the joy of your faith. And when I come to you again, you will have even more reason to take pride in Christ Jesus because of what he is doing through me.
