WELCOME HOME – A Study in Ephesians
The Family Fight
(Ephesians 6:12) For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
(Ephesians 6:10) Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.
1. We fight with God’s
(Ephesians 6:10) be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.
(Isaiah 41:10) So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
(Psalm 46:1) God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.
(2 Corinthians 10:4) The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.
2. We fight with God’s
(Ephesians 6:11) Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.
(Ephesians 6:13-14) Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place,
(Proverbs 4:23) Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.
(Ephesians 6:15) and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.
(Romans 5:1) Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ
Jesus has given us peace:
Peace for our minds
Peace for our families
Peace for our future
(John 14:27) Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
Everywhere you go you are carrying around peace
Carry peace to your workplace
Carry peace to your home
Carry peace wherever you may go
(Ephesians 6:16) In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.
(Ephesians 6:17) Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
3. We have a cause worth
(1 Samuel 17:25-27) 25 Now the Israelites had been saying, “Do you see how this man keeps coming out? He comes out to defy Israel. The king will give great wealth to the man who kills him. He will also give him his daughter in marriage and will exempt his family from taxes in Israel.” 26 David asked the men standing near him, “What will be done for the man who kills this Philistine and removes this disgrace from Israel? 27 They repeated to him what they had been saying and told him, “This is what will be done for the man who kills him.”
