The Upper Room – Love and Denial (Peter) John 13:31-38

July 19, 2026   /   Life Stream

Key Question: When the world sees you, what do they see?

We may be the closest thing to Jesus that people encounter this week

Sometimes we struggle because we define glory differently than Jesus does.

  • We tend to glorify comfort or convenience. Jesus glorified obedience.
  • We glorify success. Jesus glorified sacrifice.
  • We glorify winning. Jesus glorified serving.
  • We glorify being noticed. Jesus glorified laying His life down.

When Jesus is glorified, people stop seeing us and start seeing Him.

Love like Jesus

Jesus calls his followers to follow Him

The question isn’t whether people are watching. The question is, what do they see?

  • Do they see someone who is pursuing their own glory? Or someone who is pointing to the glory of Jesus?
  • Do they see people who love the way Jesus loved?
  • Do they see people who keep following Jesus even after we’ve failed?
  • Do they see people choosing to follow Jesus?
