What Do You Think?

What struck a chord with you from Sunday’s service?

The story of your life.

This past Sunday, Pastor Kyle talked about turning bitter days into better, sweeter ones. Share one of the sweetest memories of your life thus far.
In Exodus 15:27, we saw how God led the Israelites to a beautiful oasis in the middle of the desert with plenty of water and shade for a few days. Pastor Kyle called it a “posh moment” to thank God for. What is something “posh” you are excited to do in the not-too-distant future?

Digging Deeper.

One of the things Pastor Kyle mentioned in reference to Exodus 15 is that we should always look for God’s provision in our current problems. Another passage where God provided unexpectedly is found in Genesis 22:1-19. Read it together and have a few group members recap the story using their own words.
1. What does this story tell us about God/God’s provision/people/you?
2. In light of this, is there anything you need to do differently right now?
When the Israelites were going through bitter times, they would praise God for their deliverance at the Red Sea in their past and expectantly praise God for the Promised Land in their future. For Christians today, we can praise God for the Cross in the past and expectantly praise God yet unseen provision, blessings, and the coming Kingdom of God in the future. What hope or encouragement do the following verses offer Christians going through hard times today?
1. Habakkuk 3:16-19.
2. 1 Peter 1:3-9.
From the dawn of time, all God has ever wanted in response for our salvation is our obedience. As believers, we are taught the importance of obedience early and often. Have a few members of the group share one of the following.
1. A favorite Bible verse on obedience (and why it’s so meaningful to you).
2. An illustration about obedience that rings true with you.
3. A helpful personal experience obeying God to relay with the others.
Finally, read Isaiah 55:8-9 three times out loud together and answer the following question.
1. In light of these verses and everything else we have studied today, what do you sense God is trying to tell you?
