Small Group Questions

What do you think?

From Sunday’s message, what particular point stood out to you, challenged you, or raised a question for you?

The story of your life.

  1. What is your favorite action movie of all time and why?

  2. On Sunday, we looked at how to stand strong in life’s battles. Tell about a time when you have had to stand strong through a battle or when you saw someone else stand strong through a battle.

Digging deeper in God’s Word.

  1. One of the topics we explored was the need for believers to open our eyes to the spiritual battles happening around us. One of the greatest stories on this topic in the Bible is found in 2nd Kings 6:8-23. Read it in its entirety and answer the following prompts/questions.
    1. Have a few members of the group recap the story using their own words.

    2. What does this story tell us about God? The unseen spiritual realm? How to handle conflict?

    3. In light of this, is there anything you need to do differently?

  2. Along the lines of opening our eyes to the unseen spiritual realm, the Apostle Paul prayed that believers would have the eyes of our hearts opened in Ephesians 1:18. Read the entire prayer from Ephesians 1:15-23 and answer the following questions.
    1. How does this prayer help us open our eyes and our hearts to what God is doing/wants to do in our lives?

    2. What does this passage teach us about a scarcity/lack mindset vs an abundance mindset and how to turn it around?

    3. In light of this, is there anything you need to do differently?

  3. The goal for any battle is to come out victorious. However winning/victory is simply different for the Kingdom minded Christian. What insights do the following verses offer in terms of what a Kingdom win looks like and how we should adjust our mindset accordingly?
    1. Matthew 6:9-15.

Personal reflection and application.

  1. Have everyone share one thing someone else said in this discussion that struck a chord with you.

  2. Break up in smaller groups and pray for one another (men with men and women with women if possible).
