SMALL GROUP QUESTIONS

Get to Know Each Other.

  1. Welcome to the first fall small group for 2022! You made a great choice to commit to be a part of biblical community. Have everyone go around and share their name, something about themselves, and how they first started coming to City Church.
  2. Fun and deep ice breaker question: if you could snap your fingers and have any one wish granted with no exceptions, what would it be?
  3. Go around again and have every person in the group share one thing they’re hoping to see God accomplish in this upcoming session of small groups.
  4. Read the “Small Group Top 10 List.” You can access it on the Church Center app by selecting “Groups,” your Small Group, then “Resources.”

What do you think?

From Sunday’s message, what particular point stood out to you, challenged you, or raised a question for you?

The story of your life.

  1. On Sunday, Pastor Kyle talked about the fact that every Christian is a minister of the New Covenant whether they realize it or not. Tell about a time in your life when you had to be “pastoral” with someone in your world. Did it come naturally to you? What did you learn about yourself from that experience?
  2. Being a minister of the New Covenant can feel like a daunting task for which we are all questionably unqualified. What types of things help build up your confidence when you feel overwhelmed?

Digging deeper in God’s Word.

Today we are going to read a collection of verses that offer different insights into what our confidence in God should look like. Read each verse one by one, answering the following questions: A. What does it tell us about God? B. What does it tell us about confidence as a Christian?

  1. Genesis 50:20.
  2. Joshua 1:9.
  3. Psalm 27:3.
  4. Psalm 55:22.
  5. Isaiah 41:10.
  6. Jeremiah 17:7.
  7. Matthew 6:26.
  8. 2 Corinthians 3:4-6.
  9. 2 Corinthians 12:9.
  10. Philippians 1:6.
  11. 2 Timothy 3:17.
  12. Hebrews 10:35-36.
  13. In light of all these verses, is there anything you need to do differently right now?

Personal reflection and application.

  1. Have everyone share one thing someone else mentioned that struck a chord with you from this discussion.
  2. Take time to pray for each other.
