SMALL GROUP QUESTIONS
What do you think?
From Sunday’s message, what particular point stood out to you, challenged you, or raised a question for you?
The story of your life.
- Soon enough, temperatures will warm up again and we’ll be swimming! What is your favorite natural body of water to swim in?
- Tell about a time in your life when you felt empty and found fulfillment in the Lord.
Digging deeper in God’s Word.
- On Sunday we read the story of Jesus and the Samaritan woman at the well. She was empty until she met Jesus. Today we are going to look at another story from Acts 6-7 that shows how powerfully God can work when they are filled with the Holy Spirit. We will break up the story into two sections to discuss separately. Read Acts 6:1-15, have a few members of the group recap the story using their own words.
- What does this story tell us about God?
- What does this story tell us about the filling of the Holy Spirit?
- How does God use us when we are filled with the Holy Spirit?
- Now read the second part of Stephen’s story in Acts 7:1-59 and have a few members of the group recap the story using their own words.
- What does this story tell us about God?
- What does this story tell us about the filling of the Holy Spirit?
- How does God use us when we are filled with the Holy Spirit?
- Read John 7:37-39. What would it look like for you to have rivers of living water coming out of you?
Personal reflection and application.
- Have everyone share one thing someone else mentioned in the discussion that struck a chord with you.
- Pray for one another (preferably men with men and women with women if possible).
