Small Group Questions
REMINDER: Take time to finalize your Small Group plans for your Small Group celebration the week of May 21. After this, Small Groups will be on break for the summer.
What do you think?
From Sunday’s message, what particular point stood out to you, challenged you, or raised a question for you?
The story of your life.
- On Sunday, Pastor Kyle spoke on the power of influence over control. Share about someone who has had a very positive influence in your life. How have they been able to successfully “break the code” of your heart over others?
- Share one way Small Groups has made a difference in your life these past four months.
Digging deeper.
- Re-read Sunday’s key passage Proverbs 31:1-31 as a group and answer the following statements.
- Share a positive trait from the text that you see in one of your parents.
- Share a positive trait from the text that you see in your spouse (if you are married) or a close friend (if you are not).
- Share a trait from Proverbs 31 that you think someone else in the small group emulates well.
- Share a trait from Proverbs 31 that you sense God asking you to focus on.
- A New Testament example of the influence of a Godly Mother/Grandmother can be found in 2 Timothy 1:3-7. Timothy was a younger pastor at the time Paul wrote these words. Read it together and answer the following questions.
- What lessons can we glean about the potential impact we can have in the lives of others from this text (our children, spouses, close family/friends, etc.)?
- How do you think you can be a greater influence for Christ after reading this?
Personal reflection and application.
- Have everyone share one thing someone else mentioned that struck a chord with you from this discussion.
- Pray for one another (preferably men with men and women with women if possible).
