SMALL GROUP QUESTIONS

What do you think?

From Sunday’s message, what particular point, challenged you, raised a question for you, or got you to think?

The story of your life.

On Sunday, we talked about “passing the baton.” Tell about a time when someone passed a baton to you (whether a ministry opportunity, a career thing, mentoring moment, etc.) or a time when you passed on a baton to someone else.

Digging deeper.

  1. Hebrews 11:1-12:2 has often been referred to as the “Hall of Faith,” listing the great men and women of God who have gone before us. Take a moment to read about those who “passed the baton” of the faith long before any of us were ever around. Then answer the following prompts.
    1. Have everyone in the group share their favorite man or woman of faith referenced and why.
    2. What does this “Hall of Faith” text tell us about God? People? You?
    3. How does Hebrews 12:1-2 encourage us to keep running our leg of the race?
  2. What insights do the following passages offer in terms of running our leg of the race well?
    1. Isaiah 40:28-31.
    2. 1 Corinthians 9:22-27.
    3. Romans 5:3-4.
    4. Colossians 3:23.

Personal reflection and application.

  1. Have everyone share one thing someone else said during this discussion that struck a chord with you.
  2. Break up into smaller groups and pray with one another (preferably men with men and women with women if possible).
