Icebreaker: Briefly share a time when you experienced biblical justice in action.

Sermon Title: 6:8 – What Shall I Bring? – Justice – Micah 6:1-8

Group Discussion:

Read Micah 6:8 & Matthew 23:23 – Justice is a big deal. What do these passages reveal about how seriously God takes justice? Discuss how we might be guilty, like the Pharisees, of focusing on external religious actions while ignoring Jesus’ justice in our daily lives. What concrete steps might we take to live out biblical justice in our families, workplaces, and neighborhoods?

Read Psalm 50:6, Hosea 12:6, & Amos 5:24 – Justice is a big subject. How should our understanding of God’s justice shape our response to the calls for justice in today’s secular culture? Discuss how we can discern the difference between biblical justice and cultural definitions of justice.

Read Romans 3:25-26, Acts 10:34-35, & James 1:27 – Justice is more than big talk; it comprises attitude and action. How does scripture challenge us to move beyond words and demonstrate authentic justice? Discuss areas in our lives, and in our community, that might need immediate, faithful action. How can we respond with a Jesus-centered, righteous approach?

Attitude – Read Amos 5:15 – Why is our attitude just as important as our actions when pursuing justice? Discuss how we can guard against pride, anger, or self-righteousness so that our pursuit of justice reflects Jesus; heart through humility and compassion.

Action – Read Leviticus 19:15 & Psalm 112:5 – How do these verses challenge common biases we might hold? What specific, practical steps can you take this week to ensure you are both judging fairly and actively extending justice to someone in your circle?

Action Steps: (1) Align your heart with the Lord’s justice: Seek His truth in scripture and pray for a Jesus-centered mindset shaped by His righteousness (Leviticus 19:15), (2) Demonstrate Godly generosity: Intentionally serve, or give to, someone in need as a reflection of the Lord’s justice and character (Psalm 112:5), and (3) Stand for justice in your community: Treat all people with dignity and fairness, grounded in the belief that every person bears God’s image.
