See His Glory – STUDY GUIDE
/ Mt Gilead ChurchIcebreaker: In one word, how would you describe God’s glory?
Sermon Title: “See His Glory” – John 17:24-26
Group Discussion:
Read John 17:5 & John 17:24 – Jesus wants us to see His Glory. In his sermon, Justin shared an interaction between Moses and God from Exodus 33 regarding God’s glory. So, when Jesus prays to the Father about us seeing His (Jesus’) glory, what do you think He is talking about? Discuss how seeing Jesus’ glory through His grace and mercy changes the way we understand His character and purposes for us as disciples and as we disciple others.
Read John 1:14, Hebrews 1:3, & 2 Corinthians 4:6 – God’s Glory is not a place; rather, it is a person. How do these verses help us understand that His glory is not bound to a physical location but is fully available to us through Jesus? What role do we play as disciples? What changes might we need to make in our daily lives to experience and reflect His glory more profoundly and consistently?
Read John 14:8-11, John 14:15-18, & John 17:25-26 – God’s Glory is a relationship to be experienced. What should it look like to fully surrender into a relationship with Jesus? Discuss ways we can actively cultivate this intimate relationship to experience His glory as individuals and in our families. Discuss how a surrendered relationship might influence the way we disciple others.
Read Matthew 28:18-20 & Romans 10:14-15 – God’s Glory is a message to be shared. Discuss how these truths compel us and shape the way we view our daily conversations, relationships, and opportunities to reveal His glory. His glory came down for us! How can this truth challenge our current approach to sharing our faith? Discuss among the group, or with your study partner, areas for improvement in how you share the gospel (i.e., good news) of His glory.
