When God Speaks
June 1, 2025 / Oasis Community ChurchWhen God Speaks
Mark 4:1 Again Jesus began to teach by the lake. The crowd that gathered around him was so large that he got into a boat and sat in it out on the lake, while all the people were along the shore at the water’s edge.
Mark 4:35-36 That day when evening came, he said to his disciples, “Let us go over to the other side.” 36 Leaving the crowd behind, they took him along, just as he was, in the boat. There were also other boats with him.
Obedience doesn’t exempt you from storms, sometime it’s what leads you into them.
John 16:33 He said, “In this world,” he said, “you will have trouble.” You will face storms. You will have difficult times. “But take heart,” He said, The good news is, “I have overcome the world.”
Mark 4:37 A furious squall came up, and the waves broke over the boat, so that it was nearly swamped.
Peace isn’t the absence of trouble, it’s the presence of a person.
Mark 4:38 Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke him and said to him, “Teacher, don’t you care if we drown?”
Storms reveal where my faith is focused.
Mark 4:39 He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Quiet! Be still!” Then the wind died down and it was completely calm.
Jesus doesn’t just calm storms around us; His true desire is to calm the storms within us.
Faith doesn’t remove the storm; it gives you the strength to stand in the storm.
Mark 4:40 He said to his disciples, “Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?
Mark 4:41 They were terrified and asked each other, “Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him!
When we see Jesus clearly, we stop fearing everything else.
Great song to help you remember He is more than able
