The Habit of Transformation

Rom 12:1 Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.

• The Spiritual habit of Transformation

Romans 12:2: “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”

• The pathway to transformation is to renew the mind through Gods word.

James 1: 16 Don’t be deceived, my dear brothers and sisters. ….. 18 He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, ……

The very salvation that you possess today is because someone spoke the words of God to you and your heart responded..

Rom 10:17:  17 Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ.

• You NEED TO GET INTO GOD’S WORD UNTIL GOD’S WORD GETS INTO You.

Hebrews 4:12 “For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.”

The Word of God is not dead…….IT IS ALIVE.

And it is ACTIVE.

It penetrates……….It exposes……….It reveals……….It corrects……It encourages.

It confronts………It comforts………..It changes me.

• YOU DON’T JUST READ THE WORD, THE WORD READS YOU.

And I don’t determine truth.

there is only one truth and It is the word of God.

THE WORD OF GOD IS OUR FINAL AUTHORITY.

The word of God has the power to transform you in the person you long to be.

The first sight of satan in scripture has one design.

The serpent’s strategy begins with a question:

Genesis 3:1 Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?”

• I don’t conform the Bible to my life. I CONFORM MY LIFE TO THE BIBLE.

2 Timothy 3:16  “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.”

2 Tim 3: 16 All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. NLT

What happens when we receive the word of God in our heart!

Psalm 19:7-11 “The law of the Lord is perfect, refreshing the soul. The statutes of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple. The precepts of the Lord are right, giving joy to the heart. The commands of the Lord are radiant, giving light to the eyes.”

Psalm 119:105 “Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.”

THE WORD GIVES US DIRECTION

That’s why one of the first questions we should learn to ask when we’re facing a decision is:

• “WHAT DOES THE BIBLE SAY?”

Psalm 119:11: “I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.”

Matthew 4. Jesus is in the wilderness……Satan tempts Him………And what does Jesus do?

Three times:  “IT IS WRITTEN.”

THE WORD OF GOD  does not just live in you…IT flows out of you. To face the lies of the enemy….for the battle of your mind. What you believe…

Ephesians 6:17 Take….“The sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.”

 

IS THE WORD OF GOD GETTING INTO You?

Psalm 1:1-3 “Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night.” “That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither—whatever they do prospers.”

Matthew 7:24:  “Everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.”

 

HEARS MY WORDS……….PUTS THEM INTO PRACTICE.
