Question 24: “Why was it necessary for Christ, the Redeemer, to die?”
Answer 24: “Christ died willingly in our place to deliver us from the power and penalty of sin and bring us back to God.”
Kingdom Prayer
Kingdom: Pray for Santa Clarita Baptist Church and the pastors David Caldwell, Wiley Kennedy, Paul Plew, and Matthew McLain. Pray for wisdom as they teach and shepherd the Gospel among those under their care. Pray for unity among the body and an ever-growing love for the lost.
Church: Pray for the people of Redeemer to be on mission where they live, work and play. Pray for open doors to share the truth of God’s Gospel story with those in our lives. Pray that through us, God would save some. Pray that we are watchful and prayerful for the ways God moves unbelievers into our lives.
People: Pray for Bella Lee. Pray that her testimony at work would be a light to her coworkers. Pray that she would be a diligent worker and do everything for the glory of God. Her work is in a busy season, and it brings up a lot of stress. Pray for her attitude and security to be in Christ as opposed to negativity coming out.

How Great Is Our God
Come Meet Jesus … Guided by Love, the Higher Law
Mark 2:23 – 3:6
Some people use their power and rules to control others, while Jesus puts the freedom and dignity of people first. Sadly, the Jewish leaders around Jesus were more concerned with what was lawful rather than what brings life. King Jesus not only brings good things to His children, but also the ability to enjoy those good things.
Come and meet Jesus as He teaches us three foundational truths about the law of love …
1. Three Short Stories
Jesus and His disciples
David and his men
A man and his hand
2. Three Awful Reactions
The information attack
The personal attack
The disdain attack
3. Three Powerful Principles
Jesus loves to meet your real needs
Jesus is guided by love and your good
Jesus wants you to enjoy His goodness
∙ For Spiritual Conversation: Name one gift of God that you might be in danger of enjoying outside of the enjoyment of the Giver Himself.
