Luke 15:17-24

How does God respond when we ask for forgiveness? What does God do when you decide to come home?

Sometimes, until you find out how bad it is from home, you won’t realize how good you have it home.

Vs 16b – “But no one gave him anything.”

Luke 15:18-19

When I’ve talked with people who have come home or those who were still running, this is one of the biggest fears they have.

  • How will God respond when I come back?
  • Will God forgive me, or does He just wanna punish me?
  • What if it’s God that has been doing these bad things to me? Maybe all the bad isn’t just consequences, but God is mad at me and letting me know?
  • What do I say when I come back? What do I do?

We call it  grace. It pursues you. It’s not just available, it’s actively given.

Romans 8:38-39

REPENTANCE is a RESPONSE to .

Rom 2:4b “…God’s kindness is intended to lead you to repentance…”

God loves us TO & THROUGH repentance…NOT after we repent.

How often do we lecture prodigals to make sure they learn the lesson and that’s the reason they come home?

Luke 15:22-24

The of sonship were restored repentance occurred.
