LUKE 15:20a – “So he returned home to his father.”

Questions we wrestle with: How in the world will God accept me? How can He still love me? How can He forgive me after what I’ve done?

Luke 15:21 – ‘Father, I have sinned against both heaven and you, and I am no longer worthy of being called your son.

Repentance vs Remorse –

= feeling sorry for the past, but it doesn’t lead to change for the future

= being sorry for the past AND making a change so the future will be different.

Why people don’t repent:

    1. They blame others or God for the place they are in.
    1. I don’t want to admit I’ve messed up.
    2. I’m fearful of what others will say; I don’t want them to know. (many times they already know!)
    1. When we compare, we lose.
