The word translated “leprosy” is a Greek word lepras, is best literally translated as “skin disease.”
Leviticus 13:45-46
2 Kings 15:5
Luke 5:12-26
The Greek word is paradoxa. It is used to describe something that is “contrary to expectation, surprising, or remarkable. It conveys the sense of something that defies conventional understanding.”
Jesus possesses the power and grace of God to do as he wills.
Like with the leper of verse twelve, with his outstretched hand, Jesus touches us with grace and
mercy. Shame loses its grip on us.
