II. A Woman of
Esther 1:1 (NLT) These events happened in the days of King Xerxes, who reigned over 127 provinces stretching from India to Ethiopia.
Esther 1:12 (NLT) But when they conveyed the king’s order to Queen Vashti, she refused to come. This made the king furious, and he burned with anger.
Esther 1:17-18 (NLT) 17Women everywhere will begin to despise their husbands when they learn that Queen Vashti has refused to appear before the king. 18Before this day is out, the wives of all the king’s nobles throughout Persia and Media will hear what the queen did and will start treating their husbands the same way. There will be no end to their contempt and anger.
III. A Woman
Esther 5:14 (NLT) So Haman’s wife, Zeresh, and all his friends suggested, “Set up a sharpened pole that stands seventy-five feet tall, and in the morning ask the king to impale Mordecai on it. When this is done, you can go on your merry way to the banquet with the king.” This pleased Haman, and he ordered the pole set up.
IV. A Woman of
Esther 4:14 (NLT) “If you keep quiet at a time like this, deliverance and relief for the Jews will arise from some other place, but you and your relatives will die. Who knows if perhaps you were made queen for just such a time as this?”
Esther 4:15-17 (NLT) 15Then Esther sent this reply to Mordecai: 16“Go and gather together all the Jews of Susa and fast for me. Do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. My maids and I will do the same. And then, though it is against the law, I will go in to see the king. If I must die, I must die.” 17So Mordecai went away and did everything as Esther had ordered him.
