Matthew 28:18-20 (NASB) 18And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. 19Go, therefore, and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, 20teaching them to follow all that I commanded you; and behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
II. Why Living “In Community” Matters So Much:
A. is uniquely present in His community!
1. Matthew 18:20 (NASB) “For where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst.”
2. Hebrews 10:24-25 (NASB) 24And let’s consider how to encourage one another in love and good deeds, 25not abandoning our own meeting together, as is the habit of some people, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near.
B. Community prevents “ ” in our lives.
1. Proverbs 27:17 (NASB) As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.
C. Community is the one place where it is fully safe for us to take off our masks and to know the of being known and loved.
1. Genesis 3:10 (NASB) He said, “I heard the sound of You in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid myself.”
D. Community is the place where we learn to like Jesus .
1. John 15:12 (NASB) “This is My commandment, that you love one another, just as I have loved you.”
2. John 13:35 (NASB) “By this all men will know that you are My disciples: if you have love for one another.”

Matthew 4:18-22 (NASB) 18Now as Jesus was walking by the Sea of Galilee, He saw two brothers, Simon, who was called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen. 19And He said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.” 20Immediately they left their nets and followed Him. 21Going on from there He saw two other brothers, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in the boat with Zebedee their father, mending their nets; and He called them. 22Immediately they left the boat and their father, and followed Him.
