Every Kingdom Has a King

I. Introduction

Genesis 1:1 (NLT) In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

Psalm 47:1-2 (NLT) 1Come, everyone! Clap your hands! Shout to God with joyful praise! 2For the Lord Most High is awesome. He is the great King of all the earth.

Psalm 103:19 (NLT) The LORD has made the heavens his throne; from there he rules over everything.

John 1:1 (NLT) In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God.

Mark 1:14-15 (NLT) 14Later on, after John was arrested, Jesus went into Galilee, where he preached God’s Good News. 15“The time promised by God has come at last!” he announced. “The Kingdom of God is near! Repent of your sins and believe the Good News!”

Matthew 4:17 (NLT) From then on Jesus began to preach, “Repent of your sins and turn to God, for the Kingdom of Heaven is near.”

Matthew 4:23 (NLT) Jesus traveled throughout the region of Galilee, teaching in the synagogues and announcing the Good News about the Kingdom. And he healed every kind of disease and illness.

Matthew 5:3 (NLT) “God blesses those who are poor and realize their need for him, for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs.”

II. Every Kingdom Has a King

Jeremiah 23:5-6 (NLT) 5“For the time is coming,” says the LORD, “when I will raise up a righteous descendant from King David’s line. He will be a King who rules with wisdom. He will do what is just and right throughout the land. 6And this will be his name: ‘The LORD Is Our Righteousness.’ In that day Judah will be saved, and Israel will live in safety.”

Isaiah 9:6 (NLT) For a child is born to us, a son is given to us. The government will rest on his shoulders. And he will be called: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Matthew 6:9-13 (NLT) 9“Pray like this: Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy. 10May your Kingdom come soon. May your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. 11Give us today the food we need, 12and forgive us our sins, as we have forgiven those who sin against us. 13And don’t let us yield to temptation, but rescue us from the evil one.”
