I. Introduction

Genesis 1:1 (NLT) In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

Psalm 47:1-2 (NLT) ¹Come, everyone! Clap your hands! Shout to God with joyful praise! ²For the Lord Most High is awesome. He is the great King of all the earth.

Psalm 103:19 (NLT) The LORD has made the heavens his throne; from there he rules over everything.

John 1:1 (NLT) In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God.

Mark 1:14-15 (NLT) ¹⁴Later on, after John was arrested, Jesus went into Galilee, where he preached God’s Good News. ¹⁵“The time promised by God has come at last!” he announced. “The Kingdom of God is near! Repent of your sins and believe the Good News!”

Matthew 4:17 (NLT) From then on Jesus began to preach, “Repent of your sins and turn to God, for the Kingdom of Heaven is near.”

II. Every Kingdom Has a King

Jeremiah 23:5-6 (NLT) ⁵“For the time is coming,” says the LORD, “when I will raise up a righteous descendant from King David’s line. He will be a King who rules with wisdom. He will do what is just and right throughout the land. ⁶And this will be his name: ‘The LORD Is Our Righteousness.’ In that day Judah will be saved, and Israel will live in safety.”

Isaiah 9:6 (NLT) For a child is born to us, a son is given to us. The government will rest on his shoulders. And he will be called: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
