Integrating God’s Word into My Life

I. Introduction

A. John 8:31-32 (NLT) 31 “You are truly my disciples if you remain faithful to my teachings. 32 And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

II. How Do I Integrate God’s Word into My Life?

A. By making God’s Word the of my life

1. Matthew 7:24-25 (NAS) 24 “Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them, may be compared to a wise man who built his house on the rock.25And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and yet it did not fall, for it had been founded on the rock.”

2. Don’t build your life on:

a. Popular

i. Exodus 23:2a (NLT) “You must not follow the crowd in doing wrong.”

b.

i. Mark 7:8 (NLT) “For you ignore God’s law and substitute your own tradition.”

c.

i. Proverbs 14:12 (NAS) There is a way which seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death.

d. Personal

i. Most of what gets accomplished in the world today is done by people who didn’t like doing it when they did it!

ii. Judges 21:25 (NLT) In those days Israel had no king; all the people did whatever seemed right in their own eyes.

3. God’s formula for relationships

a. Instead of trying to find the right person, the right person!

b. Instead of “falling in love,” in love!

i. Love is me choosing needs over my needs!

c. Fix my hope on and honor Him through my relationship!

d. If failure occurs, steps one, two and three!

B. By making God’s Word the of my daily life

1. Matthew 6:33 (NAS) “Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”

a. Philippians 4:6-7 (NAS) 6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

C. By making God’s Word a for the challenges of life

1. Ephesians 6:12 (NAS) For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.

II Corinthians 10:3-5 (NAS) 3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh,4 for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses.5 We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ.

3. II Corinthians 9:8 (NAS) And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that always having

all sufficiency in everything, you may have an abundance for every good deed.

D. By making God’s Word a for the dark days that come into my life

1. Psalm 119:105 (NAS) Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.

2. What do you do when you’re in the dark? You turn on the !

3. “God, keep Your promise. I’m going to start reading Your Word. Show me what want me to do.”

III. Here’s What I Want to Challenge You to Do:

A. I want to challenge you to what you’ve been doing! Don’t stop reading God’s Word.

B. And I want to challenge you to keep being part of the that you’re in.

C. And I want to challenge you to keep having a quiet time—a daily devotional time.
