I. Introduction

2 Peter 1:12-13, 15 (NIV) ¹²So I will always remind you of these things, even though you know them and are firmly established in the truth you now have. ¹³I think it is right to refresh your memory as long as I live in the tent of this body…¹⁵And I will make every effort to see that after my departure you will always be able to remember these things.

II. God’s Goodness and Faithfulness

A. God Is Faithful to for Good Works.

Ephesians 2:10 (NIV) For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

1. To do these good works, we must be willing to give Him the little we possess.

Exodus 4:1-5 (NIV) ¹Moses answered, “What if they do not believe me or listen to me and say, ‘The Lord did not appear to you’?” ²Then the Lord said to him, “What is that in your hand?” “A staff,” he replied. ³The Lord said, “Throw it on the ground.” Moses threw it on the ground and it became a snake, and he ran from it. ⁴Then the Lord said to him, “Reach out your hand and take it by the tail.” So Moses reached out and took hold of the snake and it turned back into a staff in his hand. ⁵“This,” said the Lord, “is so that they may believe that the Lord, the God of their fathers…has appeared to you.”

B. God Is Faithful to Sustain Us through .

2 Timothy 2:11a & 13 (NIV) ¹¹Here is a trustworthy saying… ¹³if we are faithless, he remains faithful, for he cannot disown himself.

John 10:27-29 (NIV) ²⁷“My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. ²⁸I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. ²⁹My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand.”

Psalm 139:7-10 (NIV) ⁷Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? ⁸If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. ⁹If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, ¹⁰even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast.

C. God Is Faithful to Fulfill His to Us.

1 Timothy 1:18 (NIV) Timothy, my son, I am giving you this command in keeping with the prophecies once made about you, so that by recalling them you may fight the battle well.

1 Timothy 4:14 (NIV) Do not neglect your gift, which was given you through prophecy when the body of elders laid their hands on you.

D. God Is Faithful to Unite Us to Something than Just Ourselves!

Colossians 1:13-14 (NASB) ¹³For He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son, ¹⁴in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
