Unshakable: Faith, Hope & Love

I. Introduction

A. Staying power – the ability to , endure, or sustain without impairment.

B. Staying power

1. I Corinthians 13:11-13 (NIV) 11When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. 12For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. 13And now these three remain (staying power): faith, hope and love.

II. Faith

III. Hope

A. I Corinthians 15:19 (NIV) If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are of all people most to be pitied.

B. Hebrews 6:19a (NIV) We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure.

1. Hope puts your soul on a and allows it to only drift so far.

IV. Love

A. John 13:35 (NIV) “By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”

B. I Corinthians 13:13 (NIV) And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

Matthew 22:36-39 (NIV) 36“Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” 37Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ 38This is the first and greatest commandment. 39And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’”

V. Conclusion

A. I Corinthians 13:13 (NIV) And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
