What Should I Really Believe?

I. Introduction

“In essentials, unity; in non-essentials, liberty; in all things, charity.”

II. What Is My Faith Built On?

A. Dogma –– The of Our Faith

1 Corinthians 15:3-4 (NLT) 3I passed on to you what was most important and what had also been passed on to me. Christ died for our sins, just as the Scriptures said. 4He was buried, and he was raised from the dead on the third day, just as the Scriptures said.

B. Doctrine –– We Live Our Faith Within These

1 Corinthians 11:23-26 (NLT) 23For I pass on to you what I received from the Lord himself. On the night when he was betrayed, the Lord Jesus took some bread 24and gave thanks to God for it. Then he broke it in pieces and said, “This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.” 25In the same way, he took the cup of wine after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant between God and his people—an agreement confirmed with my blood. Do this in remembrance of me as often as you drink it.” 26For every time you eat this bread and drink this cup, you are announcing the Lord’s death until he comes again.

C. Opinion –– My Personal

Romans 14:5-6, 10, 13 (NLT) 5In the same way, some think one day is more holy than another day, while others think every day is alike. You should each be fully convinced that whichever day you choose is acceptable. 6Those who worship the Lord on a special day do it to honor him. Those who eat any kind of food do so to honor the Lord, since they give thanks to God before eating. And those who refuse to eat certain foods also want to please the Lord and give thanks to God. 10So why do you condemn another believer? Why do you look down on another believer? Remember, we will all stand before the judgment seat of God. 13So let’s stop condemning each other. Decide instead to live in such a way that you will not cause another believer to stumble and fall.
