How can that encourage you? Verse 28 does not say “all things are good,” but “in all things God works for the good.” Why should believers make this distinction? How might this distinction help us when we experience great suffering or hardship? How can we learn to accept the fact that God’s working for good is not always what we want or what is comfortable for us? Can you think of a time when God used your suffering or hardship for your good and His glory? What did you learn from the experience? How can your greatest witness come out of your greatest pain? Have you seen this in your life or the life of someone else? Have you ever heard the phrase, “Make my mess my message?” What does that mean to you? Allow the Holy Spirit to guide you in a time of prayer. Pray about it: Meditate on God’s Word (Romans 8:28-39) and this week’s message. Adoration: What can I praise God for in light of what this teaches me? Confession: What sin can I confess because of what this teaches me? Thanksgiving: What can I thank God for in light of what he has done? Supplication: What do I need to ask of God in order to grow in light of this? DID YOU KNOW?
