- What caught your attention in this week’s message? Was there something you had never heard before or something you had a question about?
- Can you remember a time when you needed to defend something? What were the circumstances? How did the situation turn out?
- Reread Nehemiah 4:4-5. Have you ever prayed like that? If so, how has God responded?
- How do you tend to react to opposition? What are strategies you utilize, good or bad?
- When facing opposition, is prayer your first line of defense or last resort? Explain.
- How do you deal with physical, spiritual, and cultural attacks?
- How has God answered your prayers and given you victory over physical, spiritual, and cultural attacks?
- Read the following passages: Psalm 34:19, Proverbs 24:10, 2 Corinthians 4:8-9, 1 Peter 5:10. How do these verses encourage us and help us in times of trouble?
- Be in continual prayer for strength and guidance from the Holy Spirit in this area. Do not forget to put on the Full Armor of God daily (Ephesians 6:10-18).
Pray about it: Meditate on God’s Word (Nehemiah 4) and this week’s message.
Adoration: What can I praise God for in light of what this teaches me?
Confession: What sin can I confess because of what this teaches me?
Thanksgiving: What can I thank God for in light of what he has done?
