Have you ever found yourself in a discussion about what is truth and what is not? How did that conversation go? Do you believe truth is under attack today? If so, how? Read Isaiah 59:14-15. What do those verses say about truth and righteousness? How is truth objective and not subjective? How is it universal and not selective? What is the major flaw in the idea that “there are no absolutes?” God is truth and God is eternal. Read Psalm 119:160 and Isaiah 40:8. What do these verses say about truth being eternal? Read John 8:32. What does this verse mean to you? How does truth set you free? How does this principle play out in our lives? What does it look like to walk in God’s truth and grace when interacting with people who believe differently? Pray and ask the Holy Spirit to guide you in truth each and every day. Pray about it: Meditate on God’s Word (Nehemiah 3:6-12 and John 8:31-47) and this week’s message. Adoration: What can I praise God for in light of what this teaches me? Confession: What sin can I confess because of what this teaches me? Thanksgiving: What can I thank God for in light of what he has done?
