Valley Gate & Dung Gate: Review

God is a God who heals. He heals us in the valleys and heals us through repentance.

Drink from the of the Holy Spirit and be washed by the of God’s Word.

Build Up Your Gates

Water Gate (Word of God)

: God is the source (origin) of what is recorded in scripture. God used human authors to compose and record His message to humanity.
: The Bible is completely true, without contradiction or error. Truth matters.
: God is incapable of error; therefore, His Word is incapable of error. The Bible is accurate, reliable, and trustworthy for all of life.

Fountain Gate (Holy Spirit)

The shortest distance between any two gates was between the Dung Gate and the Fountain Gate. After (Valley Gate) comes (Dung Gate). After cleansing comes the of the Holy Spirit (Fountain Gate).
The Holy Spirit us for our Christian life.
The world offers but delivers . To seek Jesus and believe in Him, is to experience the soul-quenching satisfaction of the Holy Spirit.

Sermon Talks

How has the Bible been life sustaining to you? What have you been learning lately from your study in the Bible?
How does the fact that the Bible is inspired, inerrant, and infallible help you in your faith? How does it affect your testimony?

What “wells” are you tempted to drink from? How has God helped you in those moments of temptation?
What are some of the reasons that you or people you know are drawn away from the well of living water?
Read John 4:1-26 and John 7:37-39. When Jesus speaks of “living water,” who is He speaking of? What separates this living water from regular water?
Recall an experience where you thirsted for God’s living water.
How has the Holy Spirit ministered to you and satisfied your thirst?

Pray about it: Meditate on God’s Word (Nehemiah 3:15,22, John 4:1-26, John 7:37-39) and this week’s message.

Adoration: What can I praise God for in light of what this teaches me?

Confession: What sin can I confess because of what this teaches me?

Thanksgiving: What can I thank God for in light of what he has done?

Supplication: What do I need to ask of God in order to grow in light of this?
