Sermon Talks
- What caught your attention in this week’s message? Was there something you had never heard before or something you had a question about?
- Of the statistics given, which one is the most alarming to you?
- One of the statistics says that 62% of couples who argue have disagreements about money. When that is you, what do you find to be the primary cause of your money arguments?
- Randy Alcorn says, “It is impossible to become a fully developed follower of Jesus without also becoming a fully developed steward of your resources.” Do you believe this to be true? If so, why or why not?
- Do you keep good records? Do you have a budget?
- If you answered yes to these two questions, how have keeping good records and budgeting helped you manage your finances? What has been the hardest part and the greatest benefit?
- In what way has envy (comparing and competing) influenced your use of money? How do you overcome the desire to “keep up with the Joneses?”
- Which of the two columns in the table do you fall under? Do you feel God is convicting you to make adjustments? If so, what are they?
- What steps can you take to allow Jesus to have more control of your finances?
Pray about it: Meditate on God’s Word and this week’s message.

Confession: What sin can I confess because of what this teaches me?
Thanksgiving: What can I thank God for in light of what he has done?
Supplication: What do I need to ask of God in order to grow in light of this?
