- Read John 15:1-10
- When you hear the phrase “All of Jesus for all of the world” what do you think of?
- What does all of Jesus mean? Take a few minutes and talk about the “Fourfold Gospel”: Jesus Savior, Sanctifier, Healer, and Coming King.
- How can we present all of Jesus through our words and relationship? How can we present Him practically?
- What impresses you the most about The Alliance and its mission to make Jesus known to all people in every segment of society?
- What does it mean to be present where your feet are? List some ways that you can live that out.
- Do you believe God is calling you to do more when it comes to mission engagement? If so, brainstorm some ways you can accomplish that.
- Peter was so desperate to be fulfilled and contribute to Jesus’ mission that he forgot that the mission was bigger than he was. Jesus called him a hindrance (Matt 16:23), Peter cut off the prisoner’s ear when Jesus was arrested, and he denied Jesus three times. Read John 21:15-19. How did Jesus restore Peter? What does Jesus say to him at the end of this passage?
- How, like Peter, do we sometimes forget that Jesus’ mission is bigger than we are? What are specific ways we fall prey to this?
- Allow the Holy Spirit to guide you in a time of prayer.
Pray about it: Meditate on God’s Word (John 15:1-10) and this week’s message.
Adoration: What can I praise God for in light of what this teaches me?
Confession: What sin can I confess because of what this teaches me?
Thanksgiving: What can I thank God for in light of what he has done?
Supplication: What do I need to ask of God in order to grow in light of this?
