What caught your attention in this week’s message? Was there something you had never heard before or something you had a question about? Share a time when you suffered through something without knowing the reason why it was happening. What questions and emotions did you wrestle with during the process? How do you think God has been glorified because of it? Or, how do you think God could have been glorified if you had approached it differently? Did you learn anything new about the Holy Spirit today? How does the fact that He is a person and is coequal and coeternal with God affect how you relate to Him? Revisit the four ways the Holy Spirit works for us as outlined in Romans 8. How does each one encourage and benefit us? Is there one that speaks to you more than the others? How does Paul describe hope in verses 22-25? How is the Holy Spirit instrumental in the understanding of hope? Revisit the list of where the Holy Spirit leads. Which of those areas is He leading you to? Why do you believe that? What are your next steps? Allow the Holy Spirit to guide you in a time of prayer. Pray about it: Meditate on God’s Word (Romans 8:18-27) and this week’s message. Adoration: What can I praise God for in light of what this teaches me? Confession: What sin can I confess because of what this teaches me?
