Hosea is a minor prophet:
The minor prophets is a collection of books in the Old Testament which give insight into who God is,
how He works, and the history of Israel.
But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.
Romans 5:8
He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins.
Ephesians 1:7-8
Lutrosis: The payment.
Apolutrosis: The release.
Redemption: Is an act of atonement that brings new birth. No one is able to pay the price of redemption
expect Jesus Christ.
But our High Priest offered himself to God as a single sacrifice for sins, good for all time. Then he sat down in the place of honor at God’s right hand.
Hebrews 10:12
When the Lord first began speaking to Israel through Hosea, he said to him, “Go and marry a prostitute, so that some of her children will be conceived in prostitution. This will illustrate how Israel has acted like a prostitute by turning against the Lord and worshiping other gods.” So Hosea married Gomer, and she became pregnant and gave Hosea a son.
Hosea 1:2-3
So I bought her back for fifteen pieces of silver and five bushels of barley and a measure of wine.
Hosea 3:2
LOVE comes at a price. TRUE LOVE requires sacrifice.
For you know that God paid a ransom to save you from the empty life you inherited from your ancestors. And it was not paid with mere gold or silver, which lose their value. It was the precious blood of Christ, the sinless, spotless Lamb of God.
1 Peter 1:18-19
(1) God’s Love For A Sinning World
(1) I want to heal Israel, but its sins are too great. (8) Worshipping false gods have sapped their strength and they don’t even know it.
Hosea 7:1&8
But I will once again win her back.
Hosea 2:14
I will make you my wife forever, showing you righteousness and justice, unfailing love and compassion. I will be faithful to you and make you mine, and you will finally know me as the Lord.
Hosea 2:19
Then the Lord said to me, “Go and love your wife again, even though she commits adultery with another lover.”This will illustrate that the Lord still loves Israel, even though the people have turned to other gods and love to worship them.
Hosea 3:1
Above all, have fervent and unfailing love for one another, because love covers a multitude of sins [it overlooks unkindness and unselfishly seeks the best for others].
1 Peter 4:8
For I desire steadfast love and not sacrifice, (not ritual sacrifice or religion) the knowledge of God rather than burnt offerings. God was saying to them, I want you to know me.
Hosea 6:6
Steadfast In Hebrew: chesed = kheh’-sed
To be fixed or firm in a direction, or purpose – unwavering.
Your unfailing love is better than life itself; how I praise you!
Psalm 63:3
Joyful are people of integrity, who follow the instructions of the LORD. Joyful are those who obey his laws and search for him with all their hearts. They do not compromise with evil, and they walk only in his paths.
Psalm 119:1-3
Come, lets turn to the Lord. He has torn us to pieces; now He will heal us. He has injured us; now He will bandage our wounds.
Hosea 6:1
In just a short time He will restore us, so that we may live in His presence. Oh, that we might know the Lord! Let’s press on to know Him. He will respond to us.

But I will have mercy on the house of Judah, and I will save them from their enemies – not with weapons and armies, but by my power as the Lord their God.

Therefore, return to your God. Observe kindness and justice, and wait for your God continually.
Hosea 12:6
I will be faithful to you and make you mine, and you will finally know me as the Lord.
Hosea 2:20
I will heal her apostasy, I will love them freely, for my anger has turned away from them.

I will heal you of your faithlessness; my love will know no bounds, for my anger will be gone forever.

True Repentance Israel, return to the Lord your God, for you have stumbled in your iniquity. 2 Take words of repentance with you and return to the Lord. Say to him, “Forgive all our iniquity and accept what is good, so that we may repay you with praise from our lips.

The people love to offer sacrifices to me, feasting on the meat, but I do not accept their sacrifices. I will hold my people accountable for their sins, and I will punish them.
Hosea 8:13
Today I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. Now I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Oh, that you would choose life, so that you and your descendants might live!
Deuteronomy 30:19
Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
Matthew 5:8
I said, Plant the good seeds of righteousness, and you will harvest a crop of love. Plow up the hard ground of your hearts, for now is the time to seek the Lord, that he may come and shower righteousness upon you. 13 “But you have cultivated wickedness and harvested a thriving crop of sins. You have eaten the fruit of lies—trusting in your military might, believing that great armies could make your nation safe.
Hosea 10:12-13
7 Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap. 8 For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. 9 And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.
Galatians 6:7-9
Oh, how can I give you up, Israel? How can I let you go? How can I destroy you or demolish you? My heart is torn within me, and my compassion overflows. No, I will not unleash my fierce anger. I will not completely destroy Israel, for I am God and not a mere mortal. I am the Holy One living among you, and I will not come to destroy.
Hosea 11:8-9
O Israel, stay away from idols! I am the One who answers your prayers and cares for you. I am like a tree that is always green; all your fruit comes from me. 9 Whoever is wise, let him understand these things; whoever is discerning, let him know them; for the ways of the Lord are right, and the upright walk in them, but sinners stumble and fall.
Hosea 14:8-9
God will repay each person according to what they have done.
Romans 6:2
Go again, love a woman who is loved by another man and is an adulteress, even as the Lord loves the children of Israel.
