True Riches:

Breaking the Spirit of Mammon Through Giving

And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for these sacrifices please God. Hebrews 13:16

Cheerful givers give willingly, with joy – not grudgingly or under compulsion.

It is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to Him must believe that God exist and He rewards those who sincerely seek Him. Hebrews 11:6

You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. For God loves a cheerful giver. 2 Corinthians 9:7

A generous person will be blessed, for he shares his food with the poor. Proverbs 22:9

Goodwill come to him who is generous. Psalm 112:5

The godly are always generous and their children will be blessed. Psalm 37:26

The righteous are gracious, kind and generous. Psalm 37:21

Give freely and become more wealthy; be stingy and lose everything. A generous man will prosper and he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed. Proverbs 11:24-25

Give generously to them and do so without a grudging heart; then because of this the Lord your God will bless you in all your work and in everything you put your hand to. Deuteronomy 15:10

Honor the Lord by giving him the first part of all your income, then your barns will be filled to overflowing and your vats will overflow with the finest wine. Proverbs 3:9

Being generous to the poor is like lending to the Lord, and God will pay you back for what you’ve done. Proverbs 19:17

Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full—pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured out. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back. Luke 6:38

Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. Galatians 6:7

41 Jesus sat down near the collection box in the Temple and watched as the crowds dropped in their money. Many rich people put in large amounts. 42 Then a poor widow came and dropped in two small coins. 43 Jesus called his disciples to him and said, “I tell you the truth, this poor widow has given more than all the others who are making contributions. 44 For they gave a tiny part of their surplus, but she, poor as she is, has given everything she had to live on. Mark 12:41-44

1 Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them. Otherwise, you have no reward with your Father in heaven. 2 So whenever you give to the poor, don’t sound a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be applauded by people. Truly I tell you, they have their reward. 3 But when you give to the poor, don’t let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, 4 so that your giving may be in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you. Matthew 6:1-4

‘It is more blessed to give than to receive’. Acts 20:35

Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions. Life is about more than money. Luke 12:1

He who gives to the poor will lack nothing, but he who closes his eyes to their needs will receive curses.  Proverbs 28:27

Use your money to do good and give generously, always being ready to share with others whatever God has given you. By doing this you will be storing up real treasure for yourself– it is the only safe investment for eternity! 1 Timothy 6:18-19

He who is gracious and lends a hand to the poor lends to the Lord, And the Lord will repay him for his good deed.

Proverbs 19:17

Freely you have received; freely give. Matthew 10:8

Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you. James 1:2

If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.

1 Corinthians 13:3

Our life is but a vapor. Here today and gone tomorrow. James 4:14

Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the creation of the world. For I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger, and you invited me into your home. Matthew 25:34-35
