SING!

A life of gratitude and thanksgiving is a lost art!

Today we are going to explore two examples of persons who lived lives of gratitude:

: The great king who endured much yet never lost his song.

: The great young adult who experienced God’s favor and humanity’s ire.

When facing a miraculous birth and the favor of God, she didn’t for one minute meditate on all the trouble she would face in her family, community, and government. She began to SING!

Mary responded, “Oh, how my soul praises the Lord. How my spirit rejoices in God my Savior!
For he took notice of his lowly servant girl, and from now on all generations will call me blessed. For the Mighty One is holy, and he has done great things for me. He shows mercy from generation to generation to all who fear him. His mighty arm has done tremendous things! He has scattered the proud and haughty ones. He has brought down princes from their thrones and exalted the humble. He has filled the hungry with good things and sent the rich away with empty hands. He has helped his servant Israel and remembered to be merciful. For he made this promise to our ancestors, to Abraham and his children forever.” Luke 1:46-55 (NLT)

They were so gracious their lives turned into a musical: a musical we can still sing!
Today we are going to turn our situations into songs:

Salvation: Pablo and Jasmine

Purify me from my sins, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow. Oh, give me back my joy again; you have broken me—now let me rejoice. Don’t keep looking at my sins. Remove the stain of my guilt. Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a loyal spirit within me.
Do not banish me from your presence, and don’t take your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and make me willing to obey you. Then I will teach your ways to rebels, and they will return to you. Forgive me for shedding blood, O God who saves; then I will joyfully sing of your forgiveness. Unseal my lips, O Lord, that my mouth may praise you. Psalm 51:7-15 (NLT)

Security and Safety- PROTECTION Judy Conte:

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness. For His name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil;
My cup runs over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord Forever. Psalm 23 (NKJV)

Provision: Let’s Sing!

Healing: Let’s Sing! Rashad and Ashley

Selah: indicates a pause in the singing or reading, encouraging the audience to reflect on the words just spoken.

The Hebrew root of Selah is thought to mean “to lift up” or “to exalt,” which may suggest lifting up one’s voice or praise or elevating the message for contemplation.

Mentioned 71 times in Psalms and 3 times in Habakkuk.

Selah invites us to slow down, think deeply, and lift our thoughts to God, emphasizing the eternal value of His Word.

*Take a moment to consider what God has done for you.
